Mompreneurs….yes this is the name we have created for ourselves ….as multitasking mothers , capable of balancing motherhood and business at the same time we have created a word which is actually not there in the English dictionary.
Inspite of the diversity in all aspects like region ,cultural and economic background and
so on, all of us have one thing in common-we all have
the deepest desire of reaching out ….reaching out to people with our own
ideas…creating our identity and off-course become successful.
Becoming successful , to me is not coming ahead in the rat race .. becoming successful
for me is how to do things differently and establish your own footprints and at the same time add value to yourself and others.
So how can we do things differently?
To be very honest no one can teach us anything in life as long as we don’t feel the importance of that factor in our life, or we are not mentally prepared to imbibe the same in
our life.
In my book #Me-Myself-Mom I have mentioned this point “Do it differently” to imply that if we want some change in our life we need to change the pattern in which we were acting or behaving before. Unless and until we change our actions , we will keep getting the same kinds of results.
So lets just check out with some pointers which can help us change the so called “ pattern”
First point which I want to consider is Delegation…
We are women , we are super good in multitasking ……
But most of the time we exhaust ourselves in doing so ,be it home or work… Its better we
delegate –at home we can delegate our children / spouse / any other family
member…Its our job to just recognize who is good at what and assign that particular responsibility to that person. You keep for yourself those “ premium tasks “ which you are good at , you enjoy doing and fetch you either name /fame /wealth or add value to yourself and the people around you….one more task you need to take care of – if you are
indispensable for that task ,for example , if it comes to spending time with your
children ….can someone be delegated that job?
What is the difference between an idea and a great idea?
When you add the spice of innovation to any simple idea it gives rise to a great idea…Innovation is the fuel in the movement of any organization….For becoming a
successful mompreneur keep yourself calm and relaxed to make the
maximum use of your innovative ideas .You should also value people who can support you with innovations .
In our childhood many of us have done the fun grade experiment of lighting a paper on fire with the help of magnifying glass. What is the basic working factor in this experiment?
Its focus
Next step is to identify your goal and focus….. without focus you will move everywhere but
reach nowhere..hence it is very much important that our actions are focused towards our goals…have a bigger goal ..break it up into short term goals and focus on achieving each goal as a step towards your bigger goal.
Flaunt—Its said if you have it , flaunt it…flaunt your talents, flaunt your ideas , flaunt your success , flaunt your style.
The scientific name of this flaunting in business is called marketing.Our bulk customers
are the millennials and the Gen Zs …
Studies show that 40-50% of our prospective customers are “brand oriented” ,they are
dependent on social contents Fb/instagram/youtube…they prefer products endorsed by celebrities. So moral of the story is .. your branding and marketing strategies are vital in the success of your business.
Evaluate-—- you are into business means you need to evaluate your ideas, action plans & strategies thoroughly, this smoothens the growth of your business and help you in making
future decisions . As we have already discussed about setting goals and focus…strategic evaluation on a periodic time-frame helps you reflect your performance relative to your goals.
Risk taking
Every time I come to this topic I love to project Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi as the best woman entrepreneur that India has seen. Taking risk-Fighting all odds and assumptions towards the leadership of Women , is what her story tells us.
If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary . Each
one of us must have taken some risk or the other to take a leap to the next level…for any mompreneur it becomes far more crucial as when they take risks it means not only financial or personal , any risk taken by her is linked to her children.. so when they take a risk with a bigger perspective its itself a different step altogether
Emotional freedom
People speak about financial freedom ,freedom of speech , freedom of thoughts..I believe, above everything else is your emotional freedom which will help you succeed in life.
Emotional freedom refers to freedom from your limiting beliefs , your fears , your egos , your anger , your stress anything which is inside you and keeps pulling you back to achieve your goals. In order to see any change you need to be the change..and as a change what best you can give to yourself is “emotional freedom”. The basic funda of emotional freedom is allowing things to go…letting go of things which makes you feel heavy in life actually gives you the wings to fly higher and higher.
Networking
Many of us lack in networking,though this is such a crucial factor in any business. Sharing your business ideas and your products is immensely important for any entrepreneur…Networking helps you to reach out to people…propagate your business, build relationships, understand opportunities , build customer base……so on…
Take action
If you want to achieve your dreams,wake up ! and take actions. Unless and until you take action you will not move from your present position…other factors will accelerate your movement…
